Douglas PUD Commission Meeting Report

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Lynn Heminger, Ron Skagen and Jim Davis executed the following actions during the June 24, 2013 Commission meeting held at the District’s East Wenatchee office:

Awarded System Operator Paul Scott with his twenty-five year service award. Commissioner Heminger thanked Paul on behalf of the citizens of Douglas County for his years of service. Paul thanked the Commission and talked about a variety of experiences while at Douglas PUD.  “I enjoy working here and the people I work with.”

Awarded Mi Tech contract 13-13-D, provide pole testing and treating services. With a bid price of $118,771, Mi Tech was the lowest responsive bidder. (13-100)

Awarded Asplundh Tree Expert Co. contract 13-12-D, provide tree trimming services. With a bid price of $381,497.60, Asplundh was the lowest responsive bidder. (13-101)

Authorized change order No. 5 to contract 12-14-D, construct Douglas to Rapids 230 kV Transmission Line. Changes include repair of irrigation line that was not part of scope of work. These changes increase the not to exceed cost $2,544.09, bringing the total not to exceed amount to $4,401,659.08. (13-102)

Approved change order No. 6 to contract 12-13-D, construct Rapids Switchyard expansion. Changes include relocation of conduit at a cost of $1,700 bringing the total not to exceed limit to $622,048. (13-103)

Authorized renewal of contract 11-09-D, asphalt installation and repair with Central Washington Asphalt, Inc. for an additional one-year period as allowed for in the contract. (13-104)

Approved negotiation of professional service agreement for RFQ 12-30-D, professional design services for warehouse roof membrane replacement. (13-105)

Approved addendum No.1 to bid document 13-14-W, PBX upgrade. The addendum clarifies contract documents and extends the bid opening date to July 8, 2013. (13-106)

 Authorized an Interlocal Cooperative Agreement with PUD No. 2 of Grant County to share the future costs related to the operation of the Methow Hatchery. This agreement will allow Grant PUD to use excess rearing capacity at the Methow Hatchery sufficient to rear up to 135,000 spring Chinook smolts. (13-107)

The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. July 1, 2013 at the District’s East Wenatchee office.
