Douglas PUD Commission Meeting Report

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Ron Skagen, Jim Davis and Lynn Heminger executed the following actions during the November 21, 2011 Commission meeting held at the District’s East Wenatchee Headquarters office:

Established the assessment roll of Local Utility District (LUD) No. 1 of Douglas County, the Rio Vista Street Lighting System.  Manager Bill Dobbins advised the Commission the assessment will be $24.00 per lot.  The public hearing date is set for December 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the East Wenatchee Headquarters.  Any lot owner in the LUD area wishing to comment on the assessment may do so in writing prior to that time or by attending the hearing in person. (11-154)

Approved the renewal of professional services agreement with APS Healthcare Northwest, Inc.  For several years Douglas PUD has offered the service of an Employee Assistance Program to all employees and their immediate families.  The cost to Douglas PUD is $3.49 per employee per month. (11-155)

Authorized a Professional Service Agreement with Badger Mountain Productions.  Douglas PUD has a need to document District activities on an ongoing basis. (11-156)

Approved an agreement with Avista Corporation for purchase and sale of power during 2012. (11-157)

Authorized acceptance of work and final payment to Irrigation Technology and Control under contract 10-19-W, vacuum pump system modifications at the Methow Hatchery. All work has been completed and determined to meet bid specifications.  (11-158)

Approved purchase of an easement from the Reiman Family. Necessary for the Douglas-Rapids 230 kV transmission corridor. (11-159)

Authorized a proposed change in boundaries of the Commission Districts and established a time for a hearing. The change will decrease the deviation from equality for all three Commissioners. The public hearing date is set for December 5, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the East Wenatchee Headquarters. Any county resident wishing to comment on the change of boundaries may do so in writing prior to that time or by attending the hearing in person. (11-160)

The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. November 28, 2011 at the District’s East Wenatchee Headquarters office.
