Douglas County PUD Commissioners Ron Skagen, Jim Davis, and Lynn Heminger executed the following actions during the September 6, 2011 Commission meeting held at the District’s East Wenatchee Headquarters office:
Awarded Executive Assistant Secretary Nancy VanHoven, with her thirty-year service award. Commissioner Skagen thanked Nancy on behalf of the citizens of Douglas County for her many years of service. Nancy thanked the Commission and said “It is a pleasure to work here.”
Authorized acceptance and final payment of work from Moe Asphalt Patching and Seal Coating, Inc under contract 08-29-D, asphalt installation and repair. All work under the contract has been completed and determined to meet the bid specifications. (11-114)
Awarded Strider Construction Co. of Bellingham, contract 11-06-W, Wells Reservoir boat launch improvements. Strider Construction, with a bid price of $662,000 was the lowest responsive bidder. (11-115)
Authorized professional services agreement with Columbia Research for bird hazing at the Wells fish hatchery and Wells Dam. The purpose of this agreement is to protect salmon and steelhead from fish-eating birds. The cost of this three-year agreement is not to exceed $260,000. (11-116)
Approved demolition of District owned houses on 13th St. NE in East Wenatchee. The houses were purchased in 1997 for future expansion and have been held as rental property. The houses are surplus to the needs of the District. (11-117)
Approved the acceptance of an engagement letter with KPMG LLP for the audit of the Wells Hydroelectric Project fiscal year ended August 31, 2011. KPMG LLP has provided Douglas PUD with consistent certified public accounting services. (11-118)
