Douglas County PUD Commissioners Jim Davis, Lynn Heminger and Ron Skagen executed the following actions during the June 1, 2010 Commission meeting held at the District’s East Wenatchee Headquarters office:
Awarded Chief System Operator Arlen Simon, with his thirty-year service award. Commissioner Heminger thanked Arlen on behalf of the citizens of Douglas County for his many years of service. Arlen thanked the Commission.
Heard a summary of the May 24, 2010 bid opening of bid document 10-09-W, Public Utility District No. 1 of Douglas County park improvements 2010.
Approved acceptance and final payment of work from WESCO Distribution, Inc. under contract 10-05-D, supply EPR underground primary cable. All work under the contract has been completed and determined to meet the bid specifications.
Approved negotiation of agreement for professional services with Hammond Collier Wade Livingston under request for proposals 10-11-D, material testing services.
Authorized retirement and disposal of obsolete items at the Bridgeport office. These items are non-usable, of no value, and unsuitable for sale at a surplus auction.
Declared Douglas County Community Network equipment surplus and authorized disposal. These items are non-usable, of no value, and unsuitable for sale at a surplus auction.
Approved updating Customer Service Policies for Water Systems. These changes coordinate the water system with the electric system customer service policies with regard to deposits, service charges and line extensions.
Established Administrative Bulletin 2.4, Maintenance and Disposal of District Vehicles.
Authorized a Renewable Energy Certificate Purchase and Sale Agreement with Iberdrola Renewables, Inc. related to the District’s share of wind power generated at the Nine Canyon Wind Project for 2009 and 2010. The estimated revenue from this contract is $152,000.
Approved amendment No. 2 to the Interlocal Cooperative Agreement for Probabilistic Seismic Analyses Coordination and Independent Peer Review. Grant, Chelan and Douglas PUDs are conducting these Analyses for their hydroelectric Projects. This amendment will re-allocate costs and extend the term to May 30, 2011.
Awarded contract 10-09-W, Public Utility District No. 1 of Douglas County park improvements 2010 to KRCI, LLC of Wenatchee. KRCI, with a bid price of $664,233 was the lowest responsive bidder.
Awarded contract 10-10-W, turbine runner maintenance platform for Wells Hydroelectric Project to Precision Machine Supply of Spokane. Precision Machine, with a bid price of 56,748 was the lowest responsive bidder.
Approved Northwest Power Pool budget for fiscal year 2010-2011. Douglas PUD’s share of the 2010-2011 budget is $68,808.
The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. June 7, 2010 at the District’s East Wenatchee Headquarters office.
