Douglas PUD Commission Meeting Report

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Jim Davis, Lynn Heminger and Ron Skagen executed the following actions during the September 28, 2009 Commission meeting held at the East Wenatchee Headquarters office:

Presented Distribution Engineering Supervisor Jerry Kyle with his twenty-five year service award. Commissioner Davis thanked Jerry on behalf of the citizens of Douglas County for his many years of service. Jerry said he couldn’t believe how fast the last 25 years had gone and then told a story of when he was hired.  “I am proud to work for Douglas County PUD,” said Jerry.

Approved addendum No. 1 to agreement for professional services with Sigma Six Solutions.  This addendum corrects the rate schedule. (09-206)

Authorized rates and charges amendments to the Customer Service Policies.  This will increase rates six percent on all electric rate schedule pricing effective January 1, 2010 and an additional six percent January 1, 2011. Three new service charges related to collection of delinquent payments were also approved effective October 1, 2009. (09-207)

Approved a call for bids under bid document 09-22-D, foundation and curbing work for Foster Creek Substation.  (09-208)

Authorized Amendment No. 3 to the professional services agreement with Devine, Tarbell & Associates, Inc. (DTA). DTA is the primary consultant for the District’s Wells Project relicensing project. The amendment increases the contract by $500,000 to a total of $1,500,000. (09-209)

Approved agreement with Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc. for consulting engineering services.  In order to maintain proper maintenance of the Wells Hydroelectric Project, the District needs to retain a consulting engineer for providing immediate and continuous engineering counsel. (09-210)

Authorized execution of agreement with City of Bridgeport regarding future operations and maintenance of Marina Park.  This agreement is necessary in order to continue to meet the District’s obligations to provide recreational opportunities at the Wells Project throughout the term of the new license. 909-211)

Approved execution of Master Consulting Services Agreement with MWH Americas, Inc. with regard to energy storage projects and authorized task order No. 1. MWH will provide professional engineering and project management in connection with planning, evaluation, feasibility analysis and design of energy storage projects. (09-212)

The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. October 5, 2009 at the District’s East Wenatchee Headquarters office.
