Douglas PUD Commission Meeting Report

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Jim Davis and Ron Skagen executed the following actions during the May 11, 2009 Commission meeting held at the Bridgeport office:

Authorized acceptance of all work performed by Hawkeye Construction Inc. for the second year of contract 07-09-D, distribution dock crew. All work under the contract has been completed and determined to meet the bid specifications. (09-111)

Authorized opening of Rural Economic Development Fund accounts for 2008-2009. (09-112)

Scheduled a public hearing to consider standards in the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 on June 15, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the East Wenatchee Headquarters Building. For more information click here. (09-113)

Established the administrative position of Safety Specialist. This position will develop safety and environmental policies and programs, keep official records, prepare reports and train employees. (09-114)

Awarded contract 09-14-W, fish turbine intake gate rehabilitation for the Wells Hydroelectric Project to the low bidder, Knight Construction and Supply, Inc, of Deer Park, WA. The total contract amount is not to exceed $77,400. (09-115)

Approved amendment No. 1 to the Interlocal Cooperative Agreement for Probabilistic Seismic Analyses Coordination and Independent Peer Review.  Grant, Chelan and Douglas PUDs are conducting these Analyses for their hydroelectric Projects.  This amendment will re-allocate costs and extend the term to May 30, 2010. Reminded those in attendance the May 18, 2009 Commission meeting has been canceled due to other Commissioner commitments.  The May 25, 2009 Commission Meeting has been rescheduled to May 26, 2009 due to the forthcoming Memorial Day Holiday.  The meeting will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the East Wenatchee Headquarters Building.

The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. May 26, 2009 at the District’s East Wenatchee Headquarters office.
