Douglas County PUD Commissioners Jim Davis, Lynn Heminger and Ron Skagen executed the following actions during the March 9, 2009 Commission meeting held at the Bridgeport office:
Opened bids submitted under Bid Document 09-03-D, Plow Installation of Underground Primary Cable and Conduit. The apparent low bidder is Cascade Cable Constructors, Inc. of Spokane, Washington with a bid of $1,966,900. The bids will be evaluated prior to any award recommendation.
Authorized award of Contract 09-01-D for communication contract crews to Power Com of Bothell, Washington. The one-year contract will have a not-to-exceed amount of $1,000,000 and may be renewed for two additional years. (09-54)
Declared an emergency and authorized waiver of the bid process for the South Nile to Rapids Switchyard transmission project steel pole footings. This project shares right of way with Greater Wenatchee Irrigation District (GWID) electric lines. Because of negotiations with property owners and route revisions, footing designs are only recently available. Any delay in the project would delay GWID’s delivery of water to agricultural operations. This action allows the project to proceed promptly. (09-55)
Authorized Change Order No. 1 to Contract 08-46-W for headquarters building interior revisions. This change order includes addition of a workstation, flooring changes and painting changes. The cost of the change order is $5,940, and brings the total contract amount to $501,334. (09-56)
Authorized an amendment to the professional services agreement with Dr. Mike Schiewe’s firm to reflect a name change from Anchor Environmental, LLC to Anchor QEA, LLC. Dr. Schiewe’s firm has combined with the former firm called Quantitative Environmental Analysis, LLC. Dr. Schiewe serves the District as the chairman of the Habitat Conservation Plan Coordinating and Hatchery committees. (09-57)
The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. March 16, 2009 at the District’s East Wenatchee office.
