Douglas PUD Commission Meeting Report

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Jim Davis, Lynn Heminger and Ron Skagen executed the following actions during the March 2, 2009 Commission meeting held at the East Wenatchee Headquarters office:

Opened bids to supply the District with a one-man bucket unit with service body under Bid Document 09-04-D. The apparent low bidder is Altec Industries of Dixon, California with a bid of $61,271. The bids will be analyzed prior to an award recommendation.

Heard a report of bids opened on February 23, 2009 for a communication contract crew under Bid Document 09-01-D. The apparent low bidder is Power Com of Bothell, Washington with a bid of $556,150. The bids will be analyzed prior to an award recommendation.

Authorized a call for bids under Bid Document 09-06-D for a 4X4 Material Handling Bucket Truck as approved in the 2009 Distribution System Budget.

Authorized a call for bids under Bid Document 09-10-D for EPR Underground Primary Cable to be used for projects approved in the 2009 Distribution System Budget.

Authorized acceptance and final payment for the Wells Project intake trash rake under Contract 06-47-W with Kuenz America. The total cost of the contract was $1,075,640 plus tax.

Authorized acceptance and final payment for work performed to relocate the spare Wells Project power transformer under Contract 08-21-W with Bigge Crane and Rigging Co. The total cost of the contract was $43,935 plus tax.

Authorized Amendment No. 2 to the professional services agreement with Devine, Tarbell & Associates, Inc. (DTA). DTA is the primary consultant for the District’s Wells Project relicensing project. The amendment increases the contract by $300,000 to a total of $1,000,000.

Authorized an agreement with the USDA Wildlife Services Division for the maintenance of gull exclusionary wires across the tailrace and hatchery rearing ponds at the Wells Project. The total cost of this agreement is not to exceed $8,893.

Authorized a call for bids under Bid Document 09-09-W for replacement of the main boiler in one of the District’s headquarters buildings.

Authorized a land use permit related to Wells Tract 788 for Sunshine Agriculture, Inc.

Authorized acceptance of engagement letters with Cordell, Neher & Company for third party administration service for several District deferred compensation plans.

The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. March 9, 2009 at the District’s Bridgeport office.
