Douglas PUD Commission Meeting Report

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Lynn Heminger, Ron Skagen and Jim Davis executed the following actions during the May 12, 2008 Commission meeting held at the East Wenatchee Headquarters office:

Authorized filing of condemnation action for utility line easements for Nakata Orchards, Inc. The District is interested in obtaining an easement for electric lines along the north side of 8th Street SE.  (08-112)

Authorized acceptance of all work performed by Hawkeye Construction Inc. for the first year of contract 07-09-D, distribution dock crew. All work under the contract has been completed and determined to meet the bid specifications.   (08-113)

Approved a call for bids under bid document 08-25-D Rapids Switchyard 115 kV breakers.  (08-114)

Authorized a call for bids under bid document 08-28-D, 144 count fiber optic cable.  To meet 2008 construction goals for the Douglas County Community Network, the District needs to purchase 300,000 feet of 144 count fiber optic cable.  (08-115)

Approved a request for proposals 08-31-D, Network Security Assessment.  (08-116)

Authorized change order No. 2 to contract 07-29-W, warehouse and fabrication shop for the Wells Hydroelectric Project.  Changes include revising the air handling ductwork.  This change order will increase the not to exceed limit $56,114 bringing the total not to exceed limit to $3,859,725 and extends the contract to June 1, 2008. Approved agreement for professional services with BioAnalysts, Inc. regarding identification of spring Chinook control populations.  In accordance with the Habitat Conservation Plan hatchery evaluation program, this will evaluate the Methow Hatchery operations on Methow Basin spring Chinook populations at a cost not to exceed $11,138. Authorized a call for bids under bid document 08-16-W, log and debris boom at Wells Dam.  A log and debris boom is necessary to control floating logs and other debris at the upstream face of Wells Dam. (08-119)

Authorized wind testing lease and option agreement with Robert Nelson covering 80 acres. (08-120)

Authorized wind testing lease and option agreement with Paul and Carol Schmidt covering 39 acres. (08-121)

Authorized wind testing lease and option agreement with Steven Thomsen covering 120 acres. (08-122)
