Douglas PUD Commission Meeting Report

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Lynn Heminger, Ron Skagen and Jim Davis executed the following actions during the May 5, 2008 Commission meeting held at the East Wenatchee Headquarters office:

Authorized acceptance of all work performed by Henkels and McCoy, Inc. working under contract 07-14-D, construction of Pangborn Substation.  All work under the contract has been completed and determined to meet the bid specifications. (08-104)

Awarded Tucker Snow-Cat Corporation of Medford, OR, contract 08-06-D, snow-cat with trailer. Tucker Snow-Cat Corporation, with a bid price of $127,050, was the only responsive bidder. (08-105)

Awarded Pole Maintenance Company, LLC of Columbus, NE., contract 08-15-D, pole testing and treating. Pole Maintenance Company, with a bid price of $120,163, was the lowest responsive bidder. (08-106)

Approved compensation for administrative employees making emergency repairs.  (08-107)

Authorized acceptance and final payment for all work performed by Day Wireless Systems working under contract 07-23-W, two-way radio communication system upgrade for the Wells Hydroelectric Project.  All work under the contract has been completed and determined to meet the bid specifications. (08-108)

Authorized acceptance and final payment for all work performed by Whitebird, Inc. working under contract 07-31-W, Headquarters building auditorium revisions.  All work under the contract has been completed and determined to meet the bid specifications. (08-109)

Approved the extension of contract with Doble Engineering for an additional year. Douglas PUD has used Doble test equipment since 1981.  Doble offers use of specialized test equipment and technical support. The contract is not to exceed $22,260. (08-110)

Approved a call for bids under bid document 08-27-W, battery testing and maintenance. Periodic testing is needed on battery systems that provide backup to critical District operations. (08-111)

The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. May 12, 2008 at the District’s East Wenatchee Headquarters office.
