Douglas PUD Commission Meeting Report

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Lynn Heminger, Ron Skagen and Jim Davis executed the following actions during the March 10, 2008 Commission meeting held at the Bridgeport office:

Authorized amendment No. 1 to agreement for professional services with Sima Six Solutions for engineering services in testing and commissioning Pangborn Substation. Due to additional work needed for commissioning, this amendment will increase the not to exceed limit $ 48,605.36 bringing the total not to exceed limit to $198,605.36. (08-47)

Approved acceptance of materials received from HD Supply Utilities and ERMCO, under contract 07-25-D, three-phase padmount distribution transformers .  All work under the contract has been completed and determined to meet the bid specifications.   (08-48)

Rejected bids under bid document 08-02-W – fire protection project for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. The bid exceeded the engineer’s estimate by more than the amount allowable under state law. (08-49)

Authorized amendment No. 1 to agreement for professional services with GeoEngineers.  Additional mapping is needed to support recreation and water quality studies. This amendment will increase the not to exceed limit $ 40,000 bringing the total not to exceed limit to $120,000. (08-50)

Approved an agreement for professional services with Columbia Basin Environmental for dissolved gas sensor calibration for the Wells Hydroelectric Project.  Periodic maintenance and calibration of dissolved gas sensors is necessary to assure accurate readings.  This contract is not to exceed $24,177. (08-51)

Authorized an agreement for professional services with LGL Limited for 2008 Juvenile Pacific Lamprey Survival and Predation Study.  The cost of this study is not to exceed $30,754. (08-52)

Approved a call for bids under bid document 08-07-W, battery testing and maintenance. Periodic testing is needed on battery systems that provide backup to critical District operations. (08-53)

Authorized execution of intent to grant easement and easement with Timothy and Becky Scott. (08-54)

The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. March 17, 2008 at the District’s East Wenatchee Headquarters office.
