Douglas PUD Commission Meeting Report

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Lynn Heminger, Ron Skagen and Jim Davis executed the following actions during the November 5, 2007 Commission meeting held at the East Wenatchee Headquarters office:

Presented Meterman Foreman Hiland Hoiland with his twenty year service award. Commissioner Heminger thanked Hiland on behalf of the citizens of Douglas County for his many years of service. Hiland thanked the Commission for the recognition.

Approved acceptance of materials received from General Pacific, under contract 06-51-D, single-phase padmount distribution transformers. All work under the contract has been completed and determined to meet the bid specifications. (07-309)

Rejected bids under bid document 07-36-D, Withrow Water Works system improvements project. The bids exceeded the engineer’s estimate by more than the amount allowable under state law. (07-310)

Authorized a work plan/financial plan with the USDA for the Piscivorous Wildlife Control Study.  The USDA is the only authorized provider of these services. The contract with the USDA shall not exceed $53,211. (07-311)

Approved land use permit 312B-03 for Wells Tract 312.  This permit will allow existing and previously permitted residential landscaping on District property. (07-312)

Authorized approval of land use permits 4-04 and 4RR-01 for Joe and Pamela Ahl.  This permit will allow an existing railroad crossing, operation of an existing orchard and an access path to the Wells Reservoir on District property. (07-313)

Approved easements for the installation and use of an irrigation pumping facility for Custom Orchards, Robert Foyle, Fugachee Orchards Partnership, Gebbers Farms (5), Dan Pariseau and Sunshine Agriculture, Inc. (07-314 to 07-323)

Authorized acquisition of a utility easement from Deryl Nickles. (07-324)

The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. November 13, 2007 at the District’s Bridgeport office.
