Douglas County PUD Commissioners Jim Davis and Lynn Heminger executed the following actions during the October 30, 2006 Commission meeting held at the East Wenatchee Headquarters building:
Rescheduled the November 6, 2006 meeting to begin at 10:00 a.m.
Authorized acceptance of 125,000 feet of 144 count fiber-optic cable received from Draka Comteq. At a total cost of $120,000, this cable will be used in continued development of the Douglas County Community Network.
Authorized purchase of property insurance coverage from Starr Technical Risks Agency and Zurich American Insurance Company. At a premium cost of $438,179, this renewal will cost 11% less than last year.
Authorized the award of a contract to supply the District with a mobile 90-ton hydraulic crane for the Wells Hydroelectric Project to Coast Crane Company of Spokane, Washington. The crane will replace an American Crane that was used in the construction of the Wells Project and will cost $715,415.
Authorized participation in the American Public Power Association’s R & D program known as DEED, Demonstration of Energy-Efficient Developments. The District’s dues of $5,148 will be added to the fund that promotes innovation in electric delivery equipment and electric-powered consumer devices.
The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. November 6, 2006 at the District’s East Wenatchee Headquarters building.
