Douglas PUD Commission Meeting Report

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Mike Doneen, Jim Davis and Lynn Heminger executed the following actions during the January 23, 2006 Commission meeting held at the East Wenatchee Headquarters building:

Opened bids submitted for Bid Document 06-01-D, Dutch Henry modular substations. Three bids were received. The apparent low bidder is Western States Electric of Portland, with a bid of $618,505. The District’s estimate was $630,000. All bids will be evaluated prior to award recommendation.

Authorized a change order to contract 04-05-D with McCandlish Electric to provide Douglas County PUD with traffic control flagging. The cost of the change is $70,000. (06-27)

Extended the District’s Bridgeport Headquarters Janitorial Services Agreement with ARE-SEAS Maintenance. This resolution will extend the terms of the contract through December 31, 2006. (06-28)

Amended sections 33 and 39 of the Electric Distribution System Customer Service Policies. This resolution requires installation of a communication conduit, provided by the District, with new underground power facilities. The resolution also allows communication system end users located outside of the electric system to connect to the District’s communication network by paying a contribution in aid of construction fee. Awarded Hale and Long of East Wenatchee contract 05-33-W, Environmental and Regulatory Services department interior revisions. Hale and Long, with a bid price of $18,100, was the lowest responsive bidder. (06-30)

Authorized the renewal of a Data Processing Access Agreement with Douglas County. This agreement allows Douglas PUD personnel to research current ownership of properties and location of easements in the County Auditor and Assessor database. The cost of accessing this information is not to exceed $1,000 per year. (06-31)

Approved a call for bids under bid document 06-07-W 2006-2007 Grounds Maintenance. Douglas PUD needs to have scheduled and unscheduled grounds maintenance work performed at various District facilities. To assure completion of the work in a timely manner the District will obtain bids for the purpose of having a contract with a qualified grounds maintenance contractor. (06-32)
