Douglas PUD Commission Meeting Report

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Mike Doneen, Jim Davis and Lynn Heminger executed the following actions during the September 6, 2005 Commission meeting held at the East Wenatchee Headquarters building:

Declared VibroSystM, Inc. a sole source for machine condition monitoring equipment for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. The contract with National Electric Coil to repair Generator Unit One calls for a machine condition monitoring system made by VibroSystM, Inc. In order to maintain continuity of service, system reliability and compatibility the District should use identical machine condition monitoring equipment when refurbishing the other nine generating units. (05-211)

Authorizes a call for bids to provide Douglas PUD with HVAC modification and retrofit to Units 2-4 for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. Since the original installation of the HVAC system, walls and offices were constructed causing an imbalance in the system. (05-212)

Approved a call for bids to provide Douglas PUD with directional drilling through a railroad/roadway embankment for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. Directional drilling of conduit, required for a septic system, is necessary to limit impact. (05-213)

Authorized the acceptance for all work performed by Moza Construction Company to rebuild China Creek and Strahl Canyon. All work has been completed and determined to meet the contract specifications. (05-214)

Approved the acceptance of materials received from Bell Lumber and Pole Co. working under contract to provide Douglas PUD with wood poles for the O’Malley 34.5 KV Project phase two. All materials under the contract have been received and meet the bid specifications. (05-215)

Rejected all bids to provide Douglas PUD with a communication dock crew. The bids received for the contract exceeded the engineer’s estimate by more than the amount allowable under state law. (05-216)

Authorized an addendum to the bid to provide Douglas PUD with Orondo Substation mobile modification. After review, it was determined that changes and clarifications to the bid document are necessary. (05-217)

Approved annual renewal of public official’s liability insurance with an employment practices liability endorsement through AEGIS. The renewal premium of $58,984 reflects an increase of $381 from 2005. (05-218)
