Douglas PUD Commission Meeting Report

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Mike Doneen, Jim Davis, and Lynn Heminger executed the following actions during the June 27, 2005 Commission meeting held at the East Wenatchee Headquarters building:

Opened bids to provide Douglas PUD with a new substation transformer. There were five bids received for the contract with bid prices ranging from $390,050 to $491,443. The apparent low bid was received from Virginia Transformer Corporation of Roanoke, VA. Estimated to cost $330,000, all bids will be evaluated prior to recommendation.

Presented Power Dispatcher Arlen Simon with his twenty-five year service award. Commissioner Doneen thanked Arlen for his many years of devoted service to keeping the lights on and the rates low. “This is very appreciated, thank you. The last ten years have flown by,” said Simon.

Authorized an addendum to the bid document to rebuild Generator Unit No. 1 for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. The pre-bid conference with potential bidders revealed necessary revisions to the bid document. (05-151)

Awarded Crane Repair Service of Fife, WA, the contract to replace hoisting ropes on the 300-ton and 450-ton gantry cranes for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. Crane Repair Service, with a bid price of $52,000, was the lowest responsive bidder. (05-152)

Authorized Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife 2005-2006 supplemental budget for the Wells Wildlife Area. The budget request was for $101,570, which is a three percent increase from last year. (05-153)

Approved an intersystem loan from the District’s Electric Distribution System to the Wells Hydroelectric Project and authorized reimbursement for funds disbursed as payment under the Colville Settlement Agreement. (05-154)

Reminded those in attendance the July 4, 2005 Commission Meeting has been rescheduled to Tuesday, July 5, 2005 due to the Independence Day Holiday. It will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the East Wenatchee Headquarters Building.
