Douglas PUD Commission Meeting Report

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Mike Doneen, Jim Davis, and Lynn Heminger executed the following actions during the May 9, 2005 Commission meeting held at the Bridgeport Office:

Awarded Cascade Cable Constructors, Inc. of Spokane, a contract to provide Douglas PUD with the installation of underground primary cable and conduit. Cascade Cable Constructors, with a bid price of $765,900, was the lowest responsive bidder. (05-99)

Awarded Moza Construction, Inc. of Tacoma, the contract to rebuild China Creek and Strahl Canyon. Moza Construction, with a bid price of $184,427, was the lowest responsive bidder. (05-100)

Awarded Henkels and McCoy, Inc. of Portland, the contract to provide Douglas PUD with a distribution dock crew. Henkels and McCoy, with a bid price of $634,520, was the lowest responsive bidder. (05-101)

Rejected the bid to provide Douglas PUD with wood poles for the O’Malley 34.5 KV Project phase two. The bid received for the contract exceeded the engineer’s estimate by more than the amount allowable under state law. Authorized a call for bids to provide Douglas PUD with wood poles for the O’Malley 34.5 KV Project phase two. (05-102)

Appointed compressed air medical directors for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. The District is required to appoint one or more licensed physicians trained in the physical requirements and the medical aspects of compressed air work and the treatment of decompression illness. (05-103)

Authorized a call for bids to rebuild Generator Unit No. 1 for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. (05-104)

Approved an interlocal cooperative agreement between Douglas County and Douglas County PUD. Due to a County road project, utilities will need to be relocated. This agreement will coordinate all utility work in Douglas County’s road project bid package. (05-105)

Rescheduled the May 30th Commission Meeting to Tuesday, May 31st due to the Memorial Day Holiday. It will be held at 2 p.m. in the East Wenatchee Headquarters Building.
