Douglas PUD Commission Meeting Report

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Mike Doneen, Jim Davis, and Lynn Heminger executed the following actions during the April 25, 2005 Commission meeting held at the East Wenatchee Headquarters building:

Opened bids to provide Douglas PUD with the installation of underground primary cable and conduit. There were three bids received for the contract with bid prices ranging from $765,900 to $3,624,621. The apparent low bid was received from Cascade Cable Constructors, Inc. of Spokane. Estimated to cost $812,000, all bids will be evaluated prior to recommendation.

Opened bids to rebuild China Creek and Strahl Canyon. There were five bids received for the contract with bid prices ranging from $184,427 to $320,890. The apparent low bid was received from Moza Construction, Inc. of Tacoma. Estimated to cost $214,000, all bids will be evaluated prior to recommendation.

Opened bids to provide Douglas PUD with a distribution dock crew. There were five bids received for the contract with bid prices ranging from $550,548 to $892,820. The apparent low bid was received from Henkels and McCoy, Inc. of Portland. Estimated to cost $552,900, all bids will be evaluated prior to recommendation.

Opened bids to provide Douglas PUD with building maintenance for the East Wenatchee headquarters facility. There were two bids received for the contract with bid prices at $3,650 and $4,600 per month. The apparent low bid was received from American Building Maintenance of Kennewick. Estimated to cost $3,400 per month, all bids will be evaluated prior to recommendation.

Authorized a call for bids to provide Douglas PUD with Shared Access Ethernet Fiber Mansfield Distribution System construction. Customers will be connected to the network using a combination of Ethernet technologies. (05-89)

Approved funding for the Transmission Improvements Group. This group was formed to develop specific regional solutions to electric transmission problems in the Northwest. (05-90)

Authorized a change order for the contract with G.L. Palm to provide Douglas PUD with modifications to the Twisp River Weir / Sill. This resolution will extend the terms of the contract through May 9, 2005. (05-91)

Approved reimbursement of PUD No. 1 of Douglas County for funds expended on rehabilitation of generating unit 1. This resolution will allow the District to reimburse expenditures related to the until 1 rehabilitation with bond proceeds. (05-92)

Authorized execution of a purchase and sale agreement with Melvin R. Murray, Oleta Fay Murray, Carol Petersen and Shirley Ann Howard for 745 acres in the Withrow area. (05-93)

Approved a land use permit for K.W. Farms. This permit will allow dry land wheat cultivation to continue on District land. (05-94)
