Douglas PUD Commission Meeting Report

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Jim Davis, Lynn Heminger and Mike Doneen executed the following actions during the December 20, 2004 Commission meeting held at the East Wenatchee Headquarters building:

Conducted a public hearing for questions regarding Local Utility District No. 1 of Douglas County for the Rio Vista Street Assessment Roll. No one being present with questions regarding the assessment and having received no other form of comment, the Commission declared the hearing closed. The Assessment Roll for 2005 is $21.00 per lot.

Recognized employees who have contributed to major accomplishments. Chris Curtis, Office Engineer, took the Headquarters Addition from start to finish. Gordon Brett, Property Supervisor, was a great source of knowledge about the Wells Reservoir for the Colville Settlement. Shane Bickford, Relicensing Coordinator, used his many skills to see the Habitat Conservation Plan to completion. The employees were thanked for their dedication and hard work.

Approved the acceptance of materials received from Western States Electric, Inc. working under contract to provide Douglas PUD with two 115 kV breakers for the Terry Substation. All materials under the contract have been received and meet the bid specifications. (04-274)

Terminated the interlocal cooperative agreement with Douglas County Fire Protection District Number 7. Douglas PUD will no longer provide service charge billing and cash collection services for Douglas County Fire Protection District Number 7 upon their request. (04-275)

Renewed the legal services agreement with the Law Firm of Jeffers, Danielson, Sonn and Aylward, P.S. This renewal extends the agreement until December 31, 2005. (04-276)

Authorized a change order for the contract with McConnell Construction to install a pier, ramp and floats at Columbia Cove Park in Brewster for Douglas PUD. The changes will eliminate safety hazards. The cost of the changes is $1,799.75, raising the total project cost from $92,736 to $94,535.75. (04-277)

Approved the purchase of real property from RailAmerica. The acquisition of this property is necessary for the operation and maintenance of the Wells Hydroelectric Project and is consistent with the District’s policy of maintaining ownership of the shoreline below project boundary. (04-278)

Authorized a change order for the contract with Knight Construction to provide Douglas PUD with replacement pond covers at the Methow Hatchery. This resolution will extend the contract to April 1, 2005. (04-279)

Canceled the regular meeting scheduled for December 27, 2004.
