Douglas PUD Commission Meeting Report

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Jim Davis and Lynn Heminger executed the following actions during the November 29, 2004 Commission meeting held at the East Wenatchee Headquarters building:

Approved the acceptance of all work performed by Chandler Business Interiors working under contract with to provide Douglas PUD with office furnishings for the Headquarters Addition. All work under the contract has been completed, inspected and determined to meet the bid specifications. (04-256)

Authorized the manager to sign a settlement agreement and mutual release with a contractor that was to supply an uninterruptible power supply system for the Headquarters Addition. The system provided did not meet the needs of the District. Under the agreement, the District will be reimbursed for the full cost of the provided system. (04-257)

Awarded Integrated Archive Systems of Palo Alto, CA the contract to provide Douglas PUD with a disk-based mass storage solution. Integrated Archive Systems, with a bid price of $128,503, was the only responsive bidder. (04-258)

Approved the renewal of professional services agreement with APS Healthcare Northwest, Inc. For several years Douglas PUD has offered the service of an Employee Assistance Program to all employees and their immediate families. The cost to Douglas PUD is $2.60 per employee per month. (04-259)

Extended the professional services agreement with QCL, Inc., of Ephrata, to provide Douglas PUD continued membership in the Public Agency Consortium. Douglas PUD participates in the consortium established by QCL Inc. to comply with the federal testing requirements regarding commercial driver’s licenses. This agreement with QCL will continue through 2005. (04-260)

Declared an emergency, waived the normal bidding procedures and contracted with Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation, Inc. to provide the labor and supervision required to disassemble, inspect and reassemble the Wells Unit 5 turbine guide bearing, realign the turbine generator shaft, and assist in returning the unit to service. Established the assessment roll of Local Utility District (LUD) No. 1 of Douglas County, the Rio Vista Street Lighting System. Manager Bill Dobbins advised the Commission the assessment would continue at $21.00 per lot, the same as last year. The Public Hearing date is set for December 20, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in the East Wenatchee Headquarters. Any lot owner in the LUD area wishing to comment on the assessment may do so in writing prior to that time or by attending the hearing in person. (04-262)
