Douglas PUD Commission Meeting Report

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Jim Davis, Lynn Heminger and Mike Doneen executed the following actions during the August 16, 2004 Commission meeting held at the East Wenatchee Headquarters building:

Opened bids to provide Douglas PUD with modifications to the Twisp River Weir / Sill. There were three bids received for the contract with bid prices ranging from $167,505 to $238,440. The apparent low bid was received from Palm Construction of Winthrop. Estimated to cost $90,000, all bids will be evaluated prior to recommendation.

Authorized acceptance of all work performed by G.G. Richardson, Inc. under contract to provide Douglas County PUD with Doneen Substation civil construction. All work under the contract has been completed and determined to meet the bid specifications. (04-161)

Approved a call for bids to provide Douglas PUD with Eastmont Substation oil containment. This system is needed to protect the substation and surrounding area if a power transformer or circuit breaker were to develop an oil leak. (04-162)

Authorized acceptance of a subdivision power facilities agreement for North Plateau, Division 8. The developer, Stimac Construction, has paid the Contribution in Aid of Construction and provided a secured funds account in the total amount of $138,888. (04-163)

Approved an addendum to the bid document for diversion structure modifications for the Twisp River acclimation pond. The pre-bid conference with contractors revealed necessary revisions to the bid document. (04-164)

Authorized a time extension and fee increase for a professional services agreement with Erlandsen and Associates, Inc. Douglas PUD is involved in various projects that are ongoing and require the services of a professional survey firm. Continuity is needed for the successful completion of these projects. The resolution will extend the contract with Erlandsen and Associates, Inc. until August 31, 2007. (04-165)

Approved a call for bids to provide Douglas PUD with electrical modifications and additions to Memorial Park, Pateros, Washington. This project is in compliance with the 2002 Recreation Action Plan Update. (04-166)

Authorized a memorandum of understanding with the Colville Confederated Tribes for Curatorial Services. The Colville Confederated Tribes History Department has provided processing, curation, operation and maintenance of the District’s Collection since 1983. This resolution would provide $267,840 compensation for past years, and establish annual payments of $25,920. (04-167)
