Douglas County PUD Commissioners Jim Davis and Lynn Heminger executed the following actions during the October 27, 2003 Commission meeting held at the Bridgeport Office:
Opened bids to provide Douglas PUD with excitation system replacement for units one through ten at the Wells Hydroelectric Project. There were five bids received for the contract with bid prices ranging from $2,579,867 to $5,395,000. The lowest bid was received from VA Tech of Charlotte, NC. Estimated to cost $2,213,000, all bids will be evaluated prior to recommendation.
Authorized a change order for the contract with Hale and Long, General Contractors to supply Douglas PUD with a headquarters addition. The changes cover the addition of a security system, replacement of current upper parking lot asphalt and debris removal. The cost of all the changes is $110,718.73, raising the total project cost from $3,460,013.66 to $3,570,732.39. (03-175)
Approved the incidental take permit for the Wells Hydroelectric Project summer chinook program. This permit will allow Douglas PUD to implement a summer chinook program consistent with the provisions of the proposed Wells Habitat Conservation Plan. (03-176)
Approved the renewal of Property/Boiler and Machinery Coverage with FM Global. The renewal premium of $444,000 reflects a decrease of $11,000 from 2003, due to market conditions. (03-177)
Called a special meeting of the board to approve the sale of Wells Hydroelectric Project bonds. The meeting will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at 3:30 p.m. in the East Wenatchee Headquarters Board Room.
