Douglas County PUD Commissioners Jim Davis and Lynn Heminger executed the following actions during the September 8, 2003 Commission meeting held at the Bridgeport Office:
Presented Journeyman Mechanic Orville Barlow with his twenty-year service award. In making this presentation, Commission President Jim Davis thanked Barlow for his many years of devoted service to the customers of Douglas County. “It has been a pleasure to work here. I have good supervisors and a good work environment,” said Barlow.
Authorized a change order for the contract with IRS Environmental, Inc. to supply Douglas PUD with asbestos abatement for the headquarters addition. The change covers a temporary dust and noise partition surrounding the abatement and construction area. The cost of this change is $450. (03-145)
Approved the continuance of the agreement with U.S. Geological Survey Water Resources Division. Douglas PUD participates in an ongoing river-gauging program on the Columbia and Methow Rivers as requested by the U.S. Geological Survey, Water Resources Division, United States Department of Interior. The cost of the contract is not to exceed $14,890 for the maintenance of gages at the Wells Project and $9,570 to maintain the gages located on the Methow and Columbia Rivers. (03-146)
Authorized an agreement with Northwest Open Access Network (NoaNet) for Operations and Maintenance. Douglas PUD is a NoaNet member and will monitor, repair or upgrade the NoaNet system as requested. (03-147)
Approved retirement and disposal of certain District personal property items. The equipment is surplus to Douglas PUD’s needs. The North Central Educational Service District has agreed to put this equipment to educational use. (03-148)
