Douglas PUD Commission Meeting Report

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Lynn Heminger, Mike Doneen and Jim Davis executed the following actions during the October 28, 2002 Commission meeting held at the East Wenatchee Headquarters building:

Approved the adoption of a 2002 Update to the Integrated Resource Planning Study. Integrated resource planning evaluates the full range of new energy resource alternatives, including generation capacity, power purchases, energy conservation, energy efficiency, and renewable energy resources in order to provide adequate and reliable service to customers at the lowest system cost. Authorized acceptance of a subdivision power facilities agreement for Raven Ridge, Phase I. The developer, Prime Properties, LLC, has paid the Contribution in Aid of Construction and provided a secured funds account in the amount of $24,762. (02-218)

Terminated an interlocal agreement with Grant and Chelan PUDs for grant research and application services. The PUDs were cooperatively investigating the availability of grant funding for communication needs. Efforts to locate potential grants proved unsuccessful. (02-219)

Approved the continuation of an agreement with U.S Geological Survey, Water Resources Division. Douglas PUD participates in an ongoing river-gaging program on the Columbia and Methow Rivers as requested by the U.S. Geological Survey, Water Resources Division, United States Department of Interior. The cost of the contract is not to exceed $14,470 for the maintenance of gages at the Wells Project and $9,305 to maintain the gages located on the Methow and Columbia Rivers. (02-220)

Approved the acceptance of all work performed by Ebony Iron Works, working under contract to provide Douglas PUD with acoustic scintillation frames for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. All work under the contract has been completed and determined to meet the bid specifications. (02-221)

Approved the renewal of Property/Boiler and Machinery Coverage with FM Global. The renewal premium of $441,221 reflects an increase of $66,159 from 2002, due to market conditions and increased insurable values. (02-222)
