Douglas PUD Commission Meeting Report

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Lynn Heminger, Mike Doneen and Jim Davis executed the following actions during the September 16, 2002 Commission meeting held at the East Wenatchee Headquarters building:

Approved scheduling a public hearing to consider adoption of a 2002 Update to the Integrated Resource Planning Study. The hearing will be conducted on October 21, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at the East Wenatchee Headquarters. The Integrated Resource Plan evaluates the full range of energy alternatives, including generation capacity, power purchases, energy conservation, energy efficiency and renewable energy resources in order to provide adequate and reliable service to customers at the lowest system cost. Authorized an amendment to the agreement for professional services with the Okanagan Nation Alliance regarding studies to enhance sockeye survival. The Okanagan Nation Alliance is developing a Flow Management Model to be used to manage river flows in the Okanagan River to maximize sockeye spawning productivity and survival in general. This amendment will extend the contract ending date to August 31, 2003 and increase the not to exceed price by $186,000. (02-195)

Approved an agreement for professional services with Lenard Cochran. Douglas PUD is in need of an apprentice operator training program at the Wells Hydroelectric Project. Cochran, former Chief Operator, retired from the Wells Project and is available to provide consultation services for the apprentice operator training program as needed. (02-196)
