Douglas PUD Commission Meeting Report

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Lynn Heminger and Mike Doneen executed the following actions during the July 29, 2002 Commission meeting held at the East Wenatchee Headquarters building:

Accepted bids received for Douglas PUD surplus items sold by Northwest Auction Service. Vehicles, desks, computer equipment and other items were auctioned. The auction raised $53,708 for Douglas PUD. (02-164)

Approved a contract assignment by Northwest Public Power Association, Inc., to National Utility Training Services, Inc. The new organization was formed as a non-profit entity and has the same Board of Trustees and staff as NWPPA. (02-165)

Authorized an agreement for professional services with Hamer Environmental for fall 2002 bird migration study. This contract will allow Hamer to conduct a fall bird migration study to investigate the viability of a wind generation project. The price is not to exceed $52,270. (02-166)

Approved an extension of agreement for professional services with Applied Paleoscience. Dr. Chatters needs more time to finish the written reports of field investigations conducted during the 1998-2001 contract term. This extension is for six months. (02-167)

Awarded Screening Systems International of Slaughter, Louisiana the contract to provide Douglas PUD a traveling water screen for the Wells Hydroelectric Project hatchery water intake. Screening Systems International, with a bid price of $62,660, was the lowest responsive bidder. (02-168)
