Douglas PUD Commission Meeting Report

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Lynn Heminger, Mike Doneen and Jim Davis executed the following actions during the July 15, 2002 Commission meeting held at the East Wenatchee Headquarters building:

Opened bids to provide Douglas PUD with a 47 foot sheave height hydraulic Digger-Derrick. There was one bid received for the contract from Pacific Utility Equipment Company of Seattle with a bid price of $77,978. The District’s estimate was $80,000. The bid will be evaluated prior to award recommendation.

Opened bids to provide Douglas PUD with a security camera system for the East Wenatchee Headquarters Facility. There was one bid received for the contract from Keyhole Security of Wenatchee with a bid price of $64,789. The District’s estimate was $309,000. The bid will be evaluated prior to award recommendation.

Opened bids to provide Douglas PUD with a traveling water screen for the Wells Hydroelectric Project hatchery water intake. There were two bids received for the contract with bid prices at $62,660 and $65,695. The apparent low bid was received from Screening Systems of Slaughter, Louisiana. The District’s estimate was $70,000. All bids will be evaluated prior to award recommendation.

Approved the acceptance of all work performed by Asplundh Tree Expert Company, working under contract to provide Douglas County PUD with distribution tree trimming. All work under the contract has been completed and determined to meet the bid specifications. (02-152)

Authorized the acceptance of all work performed by Moe Asphalt and Sealcoating, Inc. working under contract to provide Douglas County PUD with asphalt repair and installation. All work under the contract has been completed and determined to meet the bid specifications. Douglas PUD will execute the option to extend the contract for an additional one-year period. (02-153)

Approved an addendum to the bid document to provide Douglas PUD with a new substation transformer. The changes include expanding the delivery window, lowering the liquidated damages limit and adding a core ground bushing. (02-154)

Authorized a call for bids to provide Douglas PUD with three substation circuit breakers. (02-155)

Awarded Bonneville Machine of Salt Lake City, Utah the contract to provide Douglas PUD with turbine guide bearing refurbishment for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. Bonneville Machine, with a bid price of $26,800, was the lowest responsive bidder. (02-156)

Awarded Ebony Iron Works, Inc. of Portland, Oregon the contract to provide Douglas PUD with acoustic scintillation frames for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. Ebony Iron Works, with a bid price of $95,713, was the only bidder. (02-157)
