Douglas PUD Commission Meeting Report

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Lynn Heminger, Mike Doneen and Jim Davis executed the following actions during the April 22, 2002 Commission meeting held at the East Wenatchee Headquarters building:

Opened bids to provide Douglas PUD with two cab and chassis vehicles. There were two bids received for the contract with bid prices ranging from $199,509 to $220,881. The apparent low bid was received from Husky International Trucks of Seattle. The District’s estimate was $215,000. All bids will be evaluated prior to award recommendation.

Conducted a public hearing to take comments regarding a proposed change in boundaries of the Commissioner Districts as previously advertised. No one being present with questions regarding the redistricting and having received no other form of comment, the Commission declared the hearing closed and approved the previously proposed change in boundaries of the Commission Districts. The change moves voting precinct 108 from Commissioner District 1 to Commissioner District 2 to make the population in each district more equal.

Awarded Potelco Inc. of Sumner the contract to provide Douglas PUD with installation of single-phase underground primary cable. Potelco Inc., with a bid price of $99,686, was the lowest responsive bidder.

Authorized the extension of a contract with Doble Engineering for an additional three-year period. Douglas PUD has used Doble test equipment since 1981. Doble offers use of specialized test equipment and technical support. The contract is not to exceed $19,640 per year.

Approved an agreement for professional services with EDAW, Inc for the performance of wildlife and botanical studies with regard to wind generation. EDAW will conduct three environmental studies necessary for analysis of a potential wind generation project. The contract is not to exceed $86,867.
