Douglas County PUD Commissioners Lynn Heminger, Mike Doneen and Jim Davis executed the following actions during the April 1, 2002 Commission meeting held at the East Wenatchee Headquarters building:
Opened bids to provide Douglas PUD with warehouse facilities expansion, phase six - covered transformer storage. There were eight bids received for the contract with bid prices ranging from $872,580 to $1,261,000. The lowest bid was received from KOP Construction Company of Spokane. The District’s estimate was $1,359,550. All bids will be evaluated prior to award recommendation.
Authorized a proposed change in boundaries of the Commission Districts and established a time for a hearing. The change will decrease the deviation from equality for all three Commissioners. The Public Hearing date is set for April 22, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. in the East Wenatchee Headquarters. Any county resident wishing to comment on the change of boundaries may do so in writing prior to that time or by attending the hearing in person.
Approved the acceptance of all work performed by Changing Directions working under contract to provide Douglas County PUD with traffic control flagging. All work under the contract has been completed and determined to meet the bid specifications.
Authorized the acceptance of all work performed by McCandlish Electric, Inc., working under contract to provide Douglas County PUD with miscellaneous conduit, vaults, electrical and concrete work. All work under the contract has been completed and determined to meet the bid specifications. Douglas PUD will execute the option to extend the contract for an additional one-year period.
Approved the acceptance of all work performed by Wilson Construction Company working under contract to provide Douglas County PUD with a distribution dock crew. All work under the contract has been completed and determined to meet the bid specifications. Douglas PUD will execute the option to extend the contract for an additional one-year period.
Awarded Asplund Tree Expert Company of Willow Grove, Pennsylvania the contract to provide Douglas PUD with distribution tree trimming. Asplund Tree Experts, with a bid price of $230, 820, was the only bid received.
Authorized a call for bids to provide Douglas PUD with two 4X4 cab and chassis. Douglas PUD’s 2002 budget includes provisions to replace a bucket truck and a line truck. The vehicles will be used for maintenance of the District’s distribution electrical system. The appropriate boom systems and assembly of the trucks will be bid separate.
Approved funding for design and installation of Fuel Cell components at Eastmont Junior High. Necessary piping, connections and equipment must be installed during the construction phase of the Junior High to be cost effective. The funding is not to exceed $67,839.
Authorized an agreement with Chelan County PUD and Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) for a fiber-optic cable interconnection among Rocky Reach Switchyard, BPA Sickler Substation, and Douglas Switchyard. This agreement will replace the copper wire with fiber-optic cable, which will in turn improve performance of systems and reduce electrostatic interferences within and between these electric switchyards.
Approved a Fee for Service Management Services agreement with Marsh, USA. The agreement is for three years with an annual fee of $55,000.
