Douglas County PUD Commissioners Lynn Heminger and Jim Davis executed the following actions during the February 11, 2002 Commission meeting held at the Bridgeport office building:
Awarded McCandlish Electric and Mechanical Inc. of Wenatchee the bid to provide Douglas PUD with traffic control flagging services . This contract will provide flagging services for construction work along roadways from February 15, 2002 until December 31, 2002, with a one-year extension option. McCandlish Electric and Mechanical Inc., with a bid price of $96,600 was the lowest of four bids.
Authorized the acceptance of all work performed by Cascade Cable Constructors Inc. of Spokane for installation of a three phase underground primary extension. All work under the contract has been completed, inspected and determined to meet the contract specifications.
Authorized acceptance of a subdivision power facilities agreement for Briarwood subdivision. The developer, Fargo Development Company, has paid the Contribution in Aid of Construction and provided a secured funds account in the total amount of $23,838.
Approved an extension of service agreement with ARE-SEAS maintenance for 2002. ARE-SEAS performs janitorial services at the Bridgeport office and Warehouse. This resolution will extend the contract through December 31, 2002.
Authorized requests for proposals for wildlife and botanical studies with regard to potential wind generation sites. District staff has identified a need for three prior to writing the Environmental Impact Statement for the proposed wind generation project. Douglas PUD seeks professional services for an aerial raptor nest survey, a small mammal inventory, and a vegetation survey and mapping.
Approved a land use permit renewal with Mr. Reyes Herrera. Douglas PUD owns a ten-acre parcel of property near Rock Island for possible future development of a substation. Mr. Herrera maintains the block of land in return for the use of the land to harvest approximately two acres of apricots.
Authorized a call for bids to replace battery banks for Douglas PUD. Routine maintenance tests indicate that some of Douglas PUD’s battery banks need to be replaced. Douglas PUD uses batteries to provide emergency power for system protection and communication equipment at the Wells Hydroelectric Project, East Wenatchee office, switchyards, substations and microwave sites.
Approved a call for bids to provide Douglas PUD with ground maintenance services. Douglas PUD needs to have scheduled and unscheduled grounds maintenance work performed at various District facilities. To assure completion of the work in a timely manner the District will obtain bids for the purpose of having a qualified grounds maintenance contractor under contract.
Rescheduled the February 18th Commission Meeting to Tuesday, February 19th due to the Presidents’ Day Holiday. It will be held at 2 p.m. in the East Wenatchee Headquarters Building.
