Douglas County PUD Commissioners Lynn Heminger, Mike Doneen and Jim Davis executed the following actions during the November 5th , 2001 Commission meeting held at the East Wenatchee Headquarters building:
Authorized wind testing lease and option agreements with five property owners covering a total of 1,551 acres for annual payments totaling $3,635. Douglas PUD now has 127 wind testing lease and option agreements covering over 71,000 acres.
Rejected the bids submitted to provide Douglas PUD with a core switch router for Douglas County Community Network. The new equipment is needed as the District builds the Douglas County Community Network distribution system in Bridgeport and Waterville. The three bids received for the contract exceeded the engineer’s estimate by more than the amount allowable under state law.
Rejected the bids submitted to provide Douglas PUD with ten curbside customer aggregation points for Douglas County Community Network. This equipment will also be used for the Waterville and Bridgeport distribution systems. The new equipment will allow Douglas PUD to expand the Douglas County Community Network. The five bids received for the contract either failed to meet the bid specifications or exceeded the engineer’s estimate by more than the amount allowable under state law.
Authorized a continuing agreement with the U.S. Geological Survey relative to river-gauging station maintenance and operation costs. Douglas PUD is participating in an ongoing river-gauging program on the Columbia and Methow Rivers as requested by the U.S. Geological Survey, Water Resources Division, United States Department of Interior. The cost of the contract is not to exceed $17,820 for the maintenance at the Wells Project and $10,440 to maintain the gauges located on the Methow and Columbia Rivers.
Established a new administrative position of electrical engineer. This position will be headquartered at the Wells Hydroelectric Project.
Rescheduled the November 12th Commission meeting to Tuesday, November 13th due to observance of the Veteran’s Day Holiday. It will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the Bridgeport Office.
