The following is a report of the Douglas County Public Utility District Commission meeting that was held on September 17, 2001.
Presented Parts Materials Coordinator Sue Marcear with her twenty-five year service award. In making this presentation, Commission President Lynn Heminger thanked Marcear for her many years of dedicated service to the customers of Douglas County. “I am very proud to work at the PUD,” Marcear said.
Authorized a reimbursement resolution for a potential distribution system bond issue. This will allow Douglas PUD to reimburse the Distribution System out of the bond proceeds for expenses incurred prior to the actual bond issue.
Authorized the execution of a power purchase agreement for the Nine Canyon Wind Project. Douglas PUD Commissioners authorized a power purchase agreement with Nine Canyon Wind Project on July 30, 2001. The terms of the original agreement have changed since then. In the new agreement Douglas PUD will be responsible for their percentage of the annual costs of the project after it is placed in commercial operation. This Energy Northwest wind power project is located in Benton County and is expected to come on line in August 2002. This agreement would give Douglas PUD about 3 megawatts of power out of the 50 megawatts of installed capacity at the project.
