The following is a report of the Douglas County Public Utility District Commission meeting that was held on August 27, 2001.
Authorized wind testing lease and option agreements with four property owners covering a total of 110 acres for annual payments totaling $258. Douglas PUD now has 89 wind testing lease and option agreements covering almost 60,000 acres.
Awarded the bid to provide Douglas PUD with the installation of a three-phase underground primary extension on Badger Mountain to Cascade Cable Constructors Inc. of Spokane. This work order calls for plowing the cable in with a cable plow system. This type of work requires equipment Douglas PUD does not have. The job is to be completed before November 2001. Cascade Cable Constructors, with a bid price of $39,399, was the lower of the two bids received.
Accepted bids received for Douglas PUD surplus items sold by Northwest Auction Service. Vehicles, an under water camera, computer equipment and other items were auctioned. The auction raised $50,873 for Douglas PUD.
Authorized a purchase of radio telemetry equipment from Lotek Inc., the sole source provider for such equipment. Telemetry equipment is used in two fish studies currently being conducted at the Wells Hydroelectric Project. Douglas PUD needs accurate data for these studies to be accepted by the requiring agencies. When used in combination with current telemetry receivers, reliability of data will be improved. The cost of the new equipment is $12,094.
Rescheduled the September 3rd Commission Meeting to Tuesday, September 4th due to the forthcoming Labor Day Holiday. It will be held at 2pm in the East Wenatchee Headquarters Building.
