The following is a report of the Douglas County Public Utility District Commission meeting that was held on August 20, 2001.
Opened bids to provide Douglas PUD with the installation of a three-phase underground primary extension on Badger Mountain. This work order calls for plowing the cable in with a cable plow system. This type of work requires equipment Douglas PUD does not have. The job is to be completed before November 2001. Two bids were received for the contract with bid prices at $39,399 and $42,796. The lower bid was received from Cascade Cable Constructors Inc. of Spokane. The District estimate is $62,600. Staff will evaluate the bids prior to award recommendation.
Authorized wind testing lease and option agreements with seven property owners covering a total of 1,502 acres for annual payments totaling $3,520. Douglas PUD now has 85 wind testing lease and option agreements covering almost 60,000 acres.
On July 2, no bids were submitted to provide Douglas PUD with well and pump maintenance for the Wells Hydroelectric Project and associated fish hatchery facilities. Maintenance work needs to be performed in a timely manner by a qualified contractor. Therefore, Douglas PUD Commissioners authorized the issuance of a purchase order to Picatti Brothers of Yakima to provide well and pump maintenance. In the past, Picatti Brothers have provided satisfactory well and pump maintenance for Douglas PUD.
