The following is a report of the Douglas County Public Utility District Commission meeting that was held on August 13, 2001.
Presented Senior Bookkeeper Candy Cox with her twenty-year service award. In making this presentation, Commission Vice President Mike Doneen thanked Cox for her many years of dedicated service to the citizens of Douglas County. Cox thanked the commissioners for the award.
Authorized wind testing lease and option agreements with seven property owners covering a total of 2,428 acres for annual payments totaling $5,693. Douglas PUD now has 75 wind testing lease and option agreements.
Authorized a change order for the contract with Concord Construction to supply Douglas PUD with the East Wenatchee Warehouse Expansion Phase 5. Major costs include the revision of the fire suppression system and a revised drainage path from the transformer washroom to the sanitary sewer. The cost of all the changes total $12,073, raising the total cost from $1,242,690 to $1,254,763.
Authorized a change order for the contract with Carter Excavation to supply Douglas PUD with play area surfacing for parks in Bridgeport and Brewster. The change substitutes a three-inch fiber-mesh concrete slab in lieu of the original sand-fabric base. It will provide a better base for the fall protection tiles. The total cost of the change is $14,452.
Authorized a time extension for a professional services agreement with Erlandsen and Associates, Inc. Douglas PUD is involved in various projects that are ongoing and require the services of a professional survey firm. Continuity is needed for the successful completion of these projects. The resolution will extend the contract with Erlandsen and Associates, Inc. until August 31, 2004.
