The following is a report of the Douglas County Public Utility District Commission meeting that was held on July 16, 2001.
Authorized wind testing lease and option agreements with 11 property owners covering a total of 8,504 acres for annual payments totaling $19,935. Douglas PUD now has 54 wind testing lease and option agreements.
Granted an easement at Douglas PUD’s Terry Substation to the Washington State Department of Transportation. The Department of Transportation plans to install an underground drainage system to protect Sunset Highway. The Department will pay Douglas PUD $1,300 for the easement.
Authorized an agreement for professional services with Western Shores Heritage for archeological monitoring. Douglas PUD must monitor archeological sites adjacent to the Wells Project reservoir. The agreement with Western Shores Heritage lasts until December 31, 2002, and is not to exceed $25,000.
Continued an agreement with Enterasys Networks, Inc. (formerly Cabletron Systems), the single source supplier of equipment maintenance and upgrade services needed for Douglas PUD’s Douglas County Community Network. The agreement term is September 1, 2001 to August 31, 2002, and is not to exceed $37,053.
Signed a contract with Carter Excavation, to install a cushioned surface under play structures at Columbia Cove Park in Brewster and Marina Park in Bridgeport. Douglas PUD’s recreation consultant has provided plans and specifications for the installation. This project is in compliance with the 1997 Recreation Action Plan Update and responds to advice from Douglas PUD’s insurance carrier. Carter Excavation’s bid of $72,354, which is below the engineer’s estimate, was the only bid received.
