The following is a report of the Douglas County Public Utility District Commission meeting that was held on December 18, 2000.
The Commissioners noted that the date of December 18, 2000 had been established at a prior Commission Meeting as the public hearing date for questions regarding LUD No. 1 of Douglas County for the Rio Vista Street Assessment Roll. No one being present with questions regarding the assessment and having received no other form of inquiry, the Commissioners declared the matter closed and adopted the Roll for 2001 at $31.00 per lot - the same assessment amount that has been charged since 1995.
All work performed by Asplundh Tree Expert Co. for distribution tree trimming under a contract that ended December 15, 2000 was approved by the Commission. The work performed under that contract has been completed, inspected by District staff, and determined by them to meet all specifications. An option to extend the agreement with Asplundh for an additional year was approved by the Commission as well.
Douglas County PUD has had radio equipment in a location known as the Ohme Site. That equipment and site are necessary to provide Douglas PUD dispatchers with remote control of power pole top switches in an area near the Douglas Switchyard. At a cost of $900 per year, the original 5-year lease for the site is due to expire on January 1, 2001. Apple Valley TV Association has agreed to extend that lease agreement for an additional 5 years at the same $900 per year rate. The Commissioners authorized the 5-year extension of the lease agreement with Apple Valley TV Association.
The December 25th Commission Meeting was changed to December 26th and the January 1st Commission Meeting to January 2nd due to the forthcoming Christmas and New Year’s Day Holidays. Both Commission Meetings will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the East Wenatchee Headquarters Building.
