The following is a report of the Douglas County Public Utility District Commission meeting that was held on December 4, 2000.
The Commissioners authorized a call for bids to provide Douglas County PUD with traffic control flagging services. Traffic control services are necessary on a regular basis for the PUD’s Distribution System. This call will provide for flagging services for the period from January 15, 2001 until December 31, 2001.
A professional services agreement with Vydas Resources, Inc., d/b/a VRI was approved by the Commissioners. For several years, Douglas PUD has offered the services of an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to all employees and their immediate families. A check of EAP services revealed that VRI was the most comprehensive. The new EAP agreement will begin January 1, 2001 and continue for the remainder of the year.
The Commission extended the professional services agreement with QCL, Inc. to provide Douglas PUD continued membership in the Public Agency Consortium. For several years Douglas PUD has participated in a consortium established by QCL, Inc. to comply with the federally mandated Omnibus Transportation Act of 1991 regarding commercial driver’s licenses. This contract extension with QCL will continue the agreement through 2001. Terms of the agreement are the same as last year.
