The following is a report of the Douglas County Public Utility District Commission meeting that was held on November 27, 2000.
The Commissioners reviewed the assessment roll of Local Utility District No. 1 of Douglas County, the Rio Vista Street Lighting System. Manager Bill Dobbins advised the Commission that the assessment would continue at the rate of $31.00 per lot, the same rate as the last few years. The Commissioners set the date of December 18, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. in the East Wenatchee Headquarters as the Notice of Public Hearing date. Any lot owner in the LUD area wishing to comment on the assessment may do so at or prior to that time.
A small aerial manlift bucket truck was recently delivered to Douglas PUD by Pacific Utility Equipment. Today the Commissioners gave their approval of the new vehicle. The truck has been inspected by Douglas PUD staff who determined that the new vehicle meets all terms and conditions of the contract. Total cost of the truck was $68,956.00 plus tax.
Douglas County PUD has been a continual member of the Foundation for Water and Energy Education, FWEE, since the inception of the group six years ago. FWEE consists of utilities and various organizations and businesses with the mission of providing balanced information regarding the use of water as a clean and renewable energy resource in the Northwest. Based on the generation of the Wells Hydroelectric Project, the Douglas PUD membership amounts to $5,870. The Commissioners approved this amount to continue Douglas PUD’s membership in FWEE for the year 2001.
