The following is a report of the Douglas County Public Utility District Commission meeting that was held on May 15, 2000.
The Commissioners authorized a call for bids to provide Douglas County PUD with a 4 X 4 backhoe loader and 20-ton tilt trailer. This purchase was provided for in the 2000 budget. This backhoe and trailer will replace the 1985 backhoe that has been used by Douglas County PUDs Bridgeport crew since 1985. The specifications in the bid document provide for an alternate bid for a used unit that meets or exceeds the bid requirements.
A contract is needed for asphalt repairs and installation that is sometimes necessary during the construction or maintenance of underground and overhead power lines. The Commission approved a call for bids to provide Douglas County PUD with that asphalt repair and installation from June 12, 2000 to May 31, 2001. An option to extend the resulting contract for an additional year is contained in the bid document.
Those in attendance were reminded that the regular Commission meeting of May 22nd had been canceled and that the May 29th Commission meeting was rescheduled for May 30th at 2:00 p.m. in the East Wenatchee Headquarters due to the Memorial Day Holiday.
