The following is a report of the Douglas County Public Utility District Commission meeting that was held on April 17, 2000.
The Commissioners opened bids to provide Douglas County PUD with a contract for facility improvements to be made to the Peninsula Park at Pateros. Two bids were received for this work, which is an update to Douglas County PUDs Recreation Action Plan. Estimated at a cost of $236,476.51, the bids were in the amounts of $105,538 and $118,960.53. The lower bid was received from Bremmer Construction, Inc. of Wenatchee. Both bids will be evaluated by District staff prior to recommendation for award.
The Commissioners also opened bids to provide Douglas County PUD with asphalt repair and installation for 2000. Two bids were received for the regular contract. They were in the amounts of $115,200 and $379,840. The lowest quote was received from Morrill Asphalt Paving Company of Wenatchee. Both of the bids will be evaluated prior to a recommendation of award. The 2000 asphalt repair and installation contract was estimated at $90,880.
The contract for the 2000 Northern Pikeminnow removal program was awarded by the Commission to Columbia Research of Chelan, Washington. Columbia had submitted their bid in the amount of $42,950. It was the lower of two bids received for the work that was estimated to cost $50,000. Northern Pikeminnow are local fish known to be predators of small migrating salmon and steelhead passing the Wells Hydroelectric Project. The 2000 contract is not to exceed $100,000.
