The following is a report of the Douglas County Public Utility District Commission meeting which was held on January 3, 2000.
The Commissioners authorized a call for bids to provide Douglas PUD with excavation services for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. Bids for these services are obtained on a regular basis to provide for scheduled and unscheduled excavation work at Wells Dam. The new agreement will provide for these services through 2000 and 2001.
A call for bids to provide Douglas PUD with grounds maintenance services for the various PUD properties was approved by the Commission. The new contract will provide for grounds maintenance services for these facilities for the years 2000 and 2001.
One of the pertinent systems at Douglas PUDs Wells Hatchery is an alarm system that is designed to monitor certain aspects of the fish rearing processes. Very necessary to reliably alert hatchery personnel of problem situations, the existing alarm system is very old, has been modified and expanded over the years, and is no longer adequate. A much newer alarm system was installed at the District’s Methow Hatchery and has proven to be very reliable. Mr. Kyle Green of Incon Industries installed the Methow Hatchery system and is the only individual known to the District to possess the required skills and experience to install a similar replacement alarm system at the Wells Hatchery. The Commissioners authorized an agreement for professional services with Incon Industrial Controls to replace the existing alarm system.
