The following is a report of the Douglas County Public Utility District Commission meeting which was held on September 20, 1999.
The Commissioners opened bids to provide Douglas PUD with a new document management system. Only one bid was received for the system and it was received from PC Docs, Inc. of Burlington, Massachusetts. That bid was in the amount of $21,580. The system was estimated to cost $25,000. The PC Docs bid will be evaluated by Douglas staff prior to recommendation for award.
On September 7th, bids were opened for the installation of fiber optic cable to run from the Sun Cove area of Douglas County to the Wells Hydroelectric Project. After evaluation of the three bids received for the contract were completed by District staff, the Wilson Construction Inc. bid was recommended for award. The commissioners agreed and awarded the contract accordingly.
Since 1988 Douglas County PUD and the Chelan/Douglas Community Action Council have participated in a joint effort known as the Energy Matchmaker Low-Income Weatherization Program. The program provides weatherization funds for all-electric homes of low-income residents in Washington State. The Commissioners approved the continuation of the Energy Matchmaker Low Income Weatherization Program for such Douglas County residents for the year 1999 in the amount of $25,000. Douglas PUDs support of $25,000 will be matched with another $25,000 from the State of Washington.
