The following is a report of the Douglas County Public Utility District Commission meeting which was held on August 2, 1999.
On June 26, 1999, the Northwest Auction Service auctioned different vehicles, materials, and lots that had been determined to be surplus to Douglas County PUD needs. Northwest charges a 10% commission for their services. After deducting their commission, Douglas received a net return of $8,908.65. By resolution, the Commissioners accepted the bids received for the Douglas PUD surplus property.
ABB Power TD Company (ABB) owns the proprietary design information on the Wells Hydroelectric Projects transformers. As such, ABB is the single source of supply for transformer repairs and is the only firm capable and qualified to perform necessary work on the transformers. There are four transformers requiring the manufacturing and installation of replacement bushings and reblocking. The Commissioners approved ABB to perform the work that was quoted at a cost of $358,332. To be most cost effective, all four units will be repaired while ABB is on site at the Wells Hydroelectric Project.
