The following is a report of the Douglas County Public Utility District Commission meeting which was held on May 10, 1999.
Douglas PUD is in the process of converting the turbine governors at Wells Dam from analog systems to digital control systems. These new systems are heat sensitive and Douglas PUD experience has shown that the temperatures in the locations containing this new equipment can exceed an acceptable level for proper operation. Douglas PUD staff has prepared specifications for water source air conditioning units to better control the temperatures in these areas. The commissioners authorized a call for bids to provide air conditioning in the logic board/equipment rooms at the Wells Hydroelectric Project. Bids for the contract will be opened at the regular commission meeting in the East Wenatchee Headquarters on June 7th at 2:00 p.m.
The commissioners approved the cleaning, sandblasting, and painting of certain recreation facilities at Pateros, Washington. In the 1997 Recreation Action Plan Update, Douglas PUD identified certain areas in the Pateros recreation facilities needing repairs. District staff has determined that the request from the City of Pateros asking Douglas PUD to perform those needed repairs is consistent with the intent of the 1997 Recreation Action Plan Update. The work will be a small works project and bids for the contract will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on May 18th at the East Wenatchee Headquarters.
