Douglas PUD Commission Meeting Report

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Lynn Heminger, Ron Skagen and Jim Davis executed the following actions during the December 8, 2014 Commission meeting held at the District's East Wenatchee office:

Commended Commissioner Lynn M. Heminger for loyal and dedicated service to the Public Utility District No. 1 of Douglas County, Washington.  Commissioner Heminger's loyalty and dedication have caused the District to enjoy a high degree of success and the respect of its customer owners and the utility industry.  (14-155)

Commended Legal Counselor Garfield R. Jeffers for loyal and dedicated service to the Public Utility District No. 1 of Douglas County, Washington.  Mr. Jeffers is stepping away from the lead counsel role after nearly 40 years of service to the District. (14-156)

Approved amendment No. 4 to professional service agreement with The Master's Touch, LLC, for printing and mailing services for the District's customer billings. This amendment will renew the agreement for a one year period ending December 31, 2015 with the same not-to-exceed limit of $55,000. (14-157)

Authorized investment of Distribution System monies in the Local Government Investment Pool. This resolution is required to transfer monies by authorized governmental entities into the Local Government Investment Pool. (14-158)

Approved revision of the cumulative generating capacity available to net metering systems. Necessary to be in compliance with state law, this will increase the generating capacity available to net metering systems to 0.5 percent of the District's peak demand during 1996. (14-159)

Authorized execution of a Mutual Aid Plan and Agreement among Washington State Public Utility Districts.  In the event of large outages, this allows PUDs statewide to cooperate and restore service to PUD customers as quickly and safely as possible. (14-160)

Authorized the renewal of excess liability insurance coverage with AEGIS Insurance Services and Energy Insurance Mutual. (14-161)

Approved renewal of general liability and automobile insurance coverage with Ace American Insurance Co. (14-162)

Authorized amendment No. 4 to professional services agreement with APS Healthcare Bethesda, Inc.  This will extend the agreement until December 31, 2015. For several years Douglas PUD has offered the service of an Employee Assistance Program to all employees and their immediate families.  The cost to Douglas PUD is $3.49 per employee per month.  (14-163)

Authorized renewal of contract 12-21-W, 2012-2013 hatchery well and pump maintenance for an additional one year period with H2O Well Services. (14-164)

The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. December 22, 2014 at the District's East Wenatchee office.
