Douglas County PUD Commissioners Lynn Heminger, Ron Skagen and Jim Davis executed the following actions during the June 23, 2014 Commission meeting held at the District's East Wenatchee office:
Awarded contract 14-09-D, provide traffic control services to Cascade Cable Constructors, Inc. Flagging services are necessary on a regular basis for Distribution System construction work along roadways. Cascade Cable Constructors was the lowest responsive bidder. (14-080)
Awarded contract 14-07-W, furnish and install East Wenatchee Headquarters standby diesel generator to Valley Electric Company. The District has a need to install a standby diesel generator and replace the uninterruptable power supply. This will improve reliability of electrical and control systems critical to District operations. Valley Electric Company was the lowest responsive bidder. (14-081)
Awarded contract 14-03-W, modernize five passenger elevators at the Wells Hydroelectric Project to Inland Elevator the lowest responsive bidder. (14-082)
Renewed contract 12-12-W, 2012-2013 heavy equipment services for an additional one-year period with Tunnel Hill Granite. The District periodically requires heavy equipment services to perform scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency work at various locations of the Wells Hydroelectric Project. (14-083)
Participated in Lessons 3 and 4 of Open Government Training as required by Open Government Training Act. Effective July 1, 2014, the Open Government Training Act (ESB 5964) requires many public officials and all agency records officers to receive training in open public meetings, open public records and records management and retention.
Congratulated Commissioner Skagen on his appointment to the American Public Power Association Board of Directors. "I'm honored to serve in this capacity.
