Douglas PUD Commission Meeting Report

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Lynn Heminger, Ron Skagen and Jim Davis executed the following actions during the April 21, 2014 Commission meeting held at the District's East Wenatchee office:

Opened bids under bid document 14-05-D, supply and deliver 4/0 and 750 kcmil EPR primary Underground Cable. The apparent low bid was received from WESCO Distributing, Inc. of Portland, OR. The bids will be evaluated prior to a recommendation for contract award.

Authorized a rate adjustment for the professional service agreement with Electrical Consultants, Inc. This agreement allows for the fee schedule to be negotiated annually to reflect any increase in the cost of doing business. (14-047)

Approved authorizing Inertia Engineering as the sole source of automated overhead gang switch and associated control cabinet. Automated pole top switches will be integrated into the Distribution System to provide reliability and response to emergencies. (14-048)

Approved appointment of John Bergstrom as District Treasurer effective May 1, 2014. Mr. Bergstrom is replacing Gary Ivory who was promoted to Assistant General Manager. Mr. Ivory is also designated to act as Assistant Treasurer. (14-049)

Authorized adjustments to certain technical, professional and administrative salaries. An adjustment to salaries of 3.0% and other adjustments to recognize promotions, performance, responsibility and job market trends are necessary to continue to attract and retain a qualified workforce. These adjustments amount to an annual budget impact of $120,120 (0.25% of the $49 million Distribution System expenditure budget) for employees assigned to the Distribution System and $182,916 (0.34% of the $53.6 million Wells Project expenditure budget) for employees assigned to the Wells Project. The current budgets include an estimate for salary adjustments. (14-050)
