Douglas County PUD Commissioners Lynn Heminger, Ron Skagen and Jim Davis executed the following actions during the December 23, 2013 Commission meeting held at the District's East Wenatchee office:
Approved renewal of contract 13-13-D, pole testing and treating services as allowed by contract. The new expiration date is November 15, 2014. (13-202)
Authorized a professional service agreement with Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife for the 2014 HCP hatchery monitoring and evaluation (M&E) implementation program. The Wells Habitat Conservation Plan requires the development and annual implementation of an M&E plan for the District's hatchery programs. The agreement is not to exceed $857,116 and will conclude December 31, 2014. (13-203)
Approved a professional service agreement with Biomark, Inc. for PIT tags and related equipment and services for 2014 at a cost not to exceed $275,473 and expiration date of December 31, 2014. (13-204)
Authorized use of Voluntary Employees' Beneficiary Association (VEBA) Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) for employees retiring in 2014. This allows the deposit of a percentage of the employee's accrued personal leave at retirement into the HRA-VEBA. (13-205)
Approved employer adoption agreement with the Voluntary Employees' Beneficiary Association. Necessary to meet IRS guidelines for the Affordable Care Act. (13-206)
Authorized engagement letters with Cordell, Neher & Company for deferred compensation plan administration. (13-207)
Completed annual reviews for the General Manager, Treasurer and Auditor.
Reminded those in attendance the December 30, 2013 and January 6, 2014 Commission Meetings have been canceled.
The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. January 13, 2014 at the District's Bridgeport office.
