Douglas County PUD Commissioners Jim Davis, Lynn Heminger and Ron Skagen executed the following actions during the November 1, 2010 Commission meeting held at the District’s East Wenatchee Headquarters office:
Awarded Wireman Forman Rick Kenny, with his twenty-five-year service award. Commissioner Davis thanked Rick on behalf of the citizens of Douglas County for his many years of service. Rick thanked the Commission.
Awarded Senior Engineering Assistant Kris Johnson, with her twenty-year service award. Commissioner Davis thanked Kris on behalf of the citizens of Douglas County for her many years of service. Kris thanked the Commission.
Approved change order No. 3 to contract 10-15-D, construct South Nile Substation expansion. The changes include moving a structure to align with new switch structure, increasing the contract $723 for a total not to exceed limit of $482,085.
Amended the interlocal cooperative agreement for water utility billing and collection service with Downing Townsite Water District. The water system has increased its customers and changed its name to Greater Bar Water District.
Approved a weatherization agreement with the Chelan-Douglas Community Action Council. Douglas PUD has participated in the Washington State Department of Community Development’s Energy Matchmaker Low Income Weatherization Program through the Chelan-Douglas Community Action Council since 1988. Douglas PUD will contribute $40,000 for 2011. The program utilizes matching funds to weatherize houses for low-income residents of Douglas County.
Authorized retirement and disposal of Bridgeport Office ice machine. It has reached its useful life and is no longer working properly.
Authorized the renewal of Aircraft Non-ownership Liability Coverage with Starr Aviation for the premium of $7,510.
Authorized change order No. 20 to contract 06-41-W, generator rebuild for unit refurbishment for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. Changes include removal, inspection and reinstallation of thrust bearing runner on the first unit. This change order will increase the not to exceed limit $36,877 bringing the total not to exceed limit to $154,192,043.
Approved acceptance and final payment to Precision Machine Supply under contract 10-10-W, turbine runner maintenance platform for Wells Hydroelectric Project. All work under the contract has been completed and determined to meet the bid specifications.
Awarded Irrigation Technology and Control of East Wenatchee, contract 10-19-W, vacuum pump modifications at Methow Spring Chinook Hatchery. Irrigation Technology and Control, with a bid price of $68,950 was the lowest responsive bidder.
Authorized purchase and sale agreement with Cascade and Columbia River Railroad Company for certain real property, Wells Tract 65. The property is necessary for the operation and maintenance of the Wells Hydroelectric Project.
The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. November 8, 2010 at the District’s Bridgeport office.
